Both Celina and S&S had two players chosen for the Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state teams in their respective classifications.
Seniors Joey Cronin and Kylie Roos of Celina were named to the 3A team while S&S’ Angela White and Kaci Bush were selected for the 2A squad.
Cronin, a shortstop, had a .451 batting average with seven homers and 55 RBI while Roos hit .402 and drove in 35 runs to go with a 0.85 earned run average as the Lady Bobcats finished as the state runner-up.
White, a senior, was 28-2 with a 0.08 earned run average while allowing 38 hits and 33 walks with 385 strikeouts in 185 2⁄3 innings.
White, who was also chosen as a Class 1A-2A-3A All-Star by the TGCA, also hit .374 with 39 runs, 12 doubles, 19 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
Bush, a sophomore outfielder, hit .441 with 12 doubles, eight homers and 34 RBI.
