AUSTIN — Three Celina softball players were chosen for the Class 3A all-state tournament team by the University Interscholastic League following the state tournament over the weekend.

Junior catcher Jasmine San Miguel, freshman second baseman Shelby Carter and freshman outfielder Lindsie Knowles were part of the 10-player squad in 3A.

San Miguel became just the sixth player to homer during the 3A state tournament, accounting for Celina’s only run in a 3-1 loss to Needville in the title game.

Carter and Knowles both tripled and scored during the Lady Cats’ 4-1 semifinal victory over Longview Spring Hill.
