POTTSBORO — Kaci Bush homered and doubled while Angela White threw a one-hitter as No. 1 S&S closed out the regular season with a perfect record after a 2-0 victory over Pottsboro in District 10-2A action on Friday night.

White struck out 12 and walked one. The only hit was a single by Ashlyn Thomas in the seventh.

Nikki Jones added an RBI double and Megan Matlock and Alex Boren each had two hits for S&S (28-0, 14-0), which faces Sam Rayburn in a warm-up game on Friday at 6 p.m. at Leonard before opening the playoffs the following week.

District 11-2A Play-in

Bells 8, Honey Grove 4

TOM BEAN — Rylie Ruth earned the victory and doubled twice while Brittney Graves homered as Bells clinched second place with a victory over Honey Grove at Tom Bean on Friday night.

Both teams and Howe were tied for second place entering the weekend and Honey Grove defeated Howe on Thursday for the right to face Bells. If Bells (21-8, 11-4) had lost, it would have clinched a playoff spot for Honey Grove and forced the Lady Panthers to take on Howe for the 11-2A’s final postseason berth.

District 10-A

Sam Rayburn 8, Savoy 6

SAVOY — Julie Nguyen scored on Carly Sadler’s sacrifice fly in the seventh and Sam Rayburn added two in the inning to hold off Savoy to close out district play.

Sydney Davis scored three runs, walked twice and stole two bases for  Sam Rayburn (21-8, 10-0), which has a warm-up game on Friday against S&S Consolidated at 6 p.m. at Leonard.

Destiny Moore, Lauren Camp and Ashley Harrison had two hits apiece for Savoy (11-7, 5-5), which faces Dodd City on Monday in a third-place play-in at Sam Rayburn at 5 p.m.

Non-district

No. 3 Celina 6, No. 19 Mesquite Poteet 2

MESQUITE — Shelby Black doubled, joining Jasmine San Miguel with two hits and two RBI as Celina defeated Class 4A Mesquite Poteet in a playoff warm-up game.

Joey Cronin also doubled and drove in one for Celina (29-4), which scored the final six runs of the game.

Kylie Roos allowed six hits and struck out three as Celina prepares for its fourth straight playoff trip and fifth in the last six seasons.
