PARIS — J.J. Floyd went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs, and Austen Blalock was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, as Sherman remained undefeated with an 8-0 win at North Lamar on Tuesday.
Winston Franks finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bearcats (7-0-1), who host Richardson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the first round of the annual Coca-Cola Classic.
Garrett Powell (1-0) got the win, allowing no runs or hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
Argyle 9, Denison 4
ARGYLE — Host Argyle scored all of its runs in the first four innings to defeat Denison.
Jordan Taylor had a solo home run and sacrifice fly for Denison (2-2) while Evan Ramsey went 2-for-3 with a two-run double.
Howe 13, Collinsville 5
HOWE — T.J. Towne pitched five innings and added a triple and a double, leading Howe (1-1) to a win over Collinsville.
Jesse Walsh hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning and finished with two hits. Bronco Wildman, Cody Mercer and David Goucher all also added a pair of safeties for the Bulldogs.
Towne and relievers Branden Crabb and Towner Bailey combined for 12 strikeouts.
Trenton 7, Wolfe City 5
WOLFE CITY — Ryan McCarley went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs as Trenton defeated Wolfe City.
Trevor Lynn doubled and scored twice, while Justin Hinton added a pair of runs for the Tigers. Nathan Henry picked up the win, allowing four hits and five runs (one earned) with four walks and two strikeouts.
Savoy 6, Roxton 2
SAVOY — Justin Curry pitched a complete game, allowing only two hits and one earned run in five innings of work with five strikeouts.
Jacob Rolen led the Cardinals (1-2) with a triple and two RBI while D.J. Colclasure reached base twice and scored a pair of runs.
Blue Ridge 13, Melissa 2
MELISSA — Charles Deckard went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, Robert Todd was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Zack Gidney finished 2-for-3 with two runs batted in for the Tigers (4-1).
Ty McKinney (2-0) picked up the win, allowing four hits and two runs in five innings with three walks and eight strikeouts. Gidney struck out four in the final two innings for Blue Ridge, which hosts its annual tournament starting Thursday.
